How Keetio Works
1. Sending a Greeting
To start a conversation on Keetio, you first send a Greeting. It’s a friendly “wave” to someone nearby. You’ll see their photo, age, and short bio — and they’ll see yours. If they accept your greeting, a chat opens between you. No one can message without mutual interest.
2. Accepting or Ignoring
When someone sends you a Greeting, you can either Accept or Ignore it. If you accept, you both can start chatting. If you ignore, nothing happens — no alerts, no notifications. You’re always in control.
3. Map Mode & WiFi Mode
Map Mode: You appear on the map with a random offset (about 300–500 meters) for privacy. Others nearby can see your presence and greet you.
WiFi Mode: When you're in the same venue (e.g. bar, club, event) as others, you appear in a list of people connected to the same WiFi — with no map and no location shown.
4. Blocking & Reporting
If someone behaves inappropriately, you can block or report them at any time. Blocking prevents them from seeing or contacting you again. Reporting helps us keep Keetio safe — you can also add a reason for context.
5. Privacy & Anonymity
Keetio is designed for safety. Your real-time location is hidden behind a smart offset. No one knows exactly where you are unless you choose to share more. You can use a nickname and control what others see. Appear when you’re available — disappear when you’re not.
